Here you go making me teary eyed at work. But really this was a very sweet story. I know very well what you mean in your excerpt at the end, wishing to have known someone in their entirety and not just the role they played in your life.
This was so sweet and poignant, it brings my father to mind for me. Although he wasn't the best at fixing things, he did try to be self sufficient where he could, and was reluctant to ask for help, definitely saved rusty nails!)
Great voice in this.
Thank you! Thank you for reading

Sorry about that…I’m glad you liked it though 🫂

Excellent voice (as Levi P already said)
Thank you! Why did they always save those rusty nails?
I don’t know - but there they were, in a coffee tin (also going a little rusty!)
I miss people who fix things, creating something is important but saving it is an art. Wonderful story, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for reading, I’m glad you like it!
Andy you keep knocking them out. This is a wonderful piece.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. I had that one rolling in my head for awhile 💛
Beautiful story, Andy! Can we ever really know someone?
I think perhaps not.
Very nice
Thank you! Thank you for reading.
Damn, man. Just gonna fuck me up like this, huh?
Sorry about that…
Thanks for this story. It tells a lot, more than seems likely in a quick read. (I am still "processing" some losses, big time, but it feels okay.)
I’m sorry for your losses…it never gets easier does it? 💛
Still too early to tell; it changes somehow, I suppose...🌱
